JDB Associates was founded in 1993 by partners Jaime Engel and Dave Vernon. Each started their careers with Andersen Consulting in the late 1980's, where they learned to appreciate the value of a good consultant offering sound advice.
Much has changed since those early days before the web and cell phones. Today JDB offers a broad range of applications development, web and support services for customers large and small. Jaime graduated from St. Cloud State University with computer science and management and finance focus and went to work for Andersen Consulting (Accenture). He left to become the Manager of Business Applications for a manufacturing and distribution company and in 1993, Jaime co-founded JDB Associates with Dave Vernon. Jaime is involved in many aspects of JDB's operations including sales and marketing, strategic alliances, consulting services delivery and administration and spends much of his time these days building JDB's Web Development and Content Management Solution practice and JDB's St. Cloud office.
Jaime and his wife Lisa live in Maple Grove with kids Erin and Mitchell where they can be found at the gym, field or ice arena watching the kid's volleyball, hockey and football teams. Jaime still enjoys wakeboarding with his kids and his other over-40 friends and claims that he can still wakeboard like he did when he was in his 20's. "I was terrible then too" he says.
Dave received his B.A. in Business from the College of St. Thomas, and went on to earn his M.B.A. from University of Wisconsin - Madison. Dave joined Anderson Consulting (Accenture) where he began focusing on helping small- to medium-sized organizations implement company-wide information systems. In 1993, an entrepreneurial drive pushed Dave to co-found JDB with Jaime Engel. Dave is involved in many aspects of JDB's operations including sales and marketing, management, strategic alliances, and consulting services delivery.
Dave lives in Stillwater with his wife Nora and their 5 kids and spends his free time shuttling kids around to sporting events, golfing (poorly), doing home improvement projects, and playing bass with the little known band "The Fizzgates". The Vernon family enjoys traveling (especially to their favorite vacation spot, North Captiva Island, Florida) and gathering with friends and relatives.
